In Georgian Orthodox practice the body usually rests at home or in a funeral hall for three days before the procession. During those days relatives come to pay respects, and a priest serves the panikhida, a short prayer of remembrance. It may be held at the house or in a church.
The family's part is to agree a time with the priest and let relatives know. Everything else sits with us: collection, preparing the hall, the coffin, wreaths and transport. The basic package is 850 GEL, city transport from 150 GEL, and 2.5 GEL per kilometre elsewhere.
We tend to any task on its own or as a complete cycle — in the way that fits your customs.
We take into account the customs of your family and your region, so that each stage unfolds in the order handed down by our forebears.
With suitable transport we ensure an orderly, respectful conveyance of your loved one to any address in Georgia.
We provide a varied selection of coffins, wreaths and accompanying accessories, in keeping with your taste and tradition.
We arrange the place for the memorial calmly and in good order, so that those who come may gather and say goodbye with dignity.
We take on the preparation of certificates and necessary papers, so that bureaucracy does not drain your strength in these days.
An experienced agent will be with you throughout the whole process — advising what is better by custom and guiding you through every step.
Usually wherever the body is resting — the family home or a funeral hall — either the evening before the procession or on the day itself. A church service is also possible. You set the time with the priest; we fit the hall and vehicles around it.
Clothing and shoes for the deceased, an icon or cross to place in the coffin, candles, and a time agreed with the priest. A list of names for the prayers of remembrance is useful too. We supply the rest of the equipment.
The Church prefers burial in the ground, though some families still choose cremation. How the rite is observed in that case is something to discuss with your priest. Cremation cost here is set by arrangement — call us and we will explain.
